Cold Powerball Numbers
These are the white balls that have appeared the least often in the most recent draws. Some lottery players choose cold numbers in the belief they are "due". Mathematically they are not, but if they do hit, fewer players will share the prize.

How Our Powerball Statistics Work
We pull the official Powerball winning numbers from the New York State Lottery open data feed every day. Each draw is a row of five white balls (1–69) and one red Powerball (1–26). We aggregate these into frequency counts, hot/cold lists, pair co-occurrence tables, and rolling averages over the last 30, 90, and 365 days.
Every draw is an independent random event. A number being "hot" does not make it more likely to come up next time. What frequency data does tell you is what numbers are popular among other players (so you know which combinations would be more shared if they hit), and how the actual draw distribution compares to the theoretical uniform distribution.
For entertainment only. Powerball is a game of chance. No system, algorithm, or website, including ours, can predict winning numbers. Play responsibly.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the most frequently drawn Powerball numbers?
Across the last several hundred official Powerball draws, the white balls drawn most often include 28, 3, 18, 53, and 64. The most common red Powerball numbers are 24, 18, 21, 4, and 10. Frequencies shift slowly as new draws happen, so we update these counts daily from the official draw history.
Can statistics actually improve my odds of winning Powerball?
No system can change the underlying odds of any individual Powerball draw. Every combination has the same chance of being drawn. What statistics can do is help you choose less popular numbers, which means if you do win, you are less likely to share the jackpot. Picking numbers above 31 (avoiding birthday-only sets) is the most studied example.
How is a Powerball number drawn?
Powerball draws happen Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 PM ET. Five white balls are drawn from a drum of 69, and one red Powerball is drawn from a separate drum of 26. The draws are televised, audited, and use mechanical ball machines, not generated by software.
What are the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot?
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338. The overall odds of winning any prize (including a $4 prize for matching just the Powerball) are about 1 in 24.9. Our /odds page lists the exact odds for each of the 9 prize tiers.
What is a Powerball quick pick?
A quick pick is a randomly generated set of Powerball numbers: 5 white balls between 1 and 69 plus one red Powerball between 1 and 26. Our free generator at the top of this page produces the same kind of selection, with no registration required and no ads.
Are quick picks more likely to win Powerball?
Quick picks win more often than self-picked numbers in absolute terms, but only because most tickets sold are quick picks. The odds per ticket are identical. The advantage of a quick pick is that it tends to choose less popular numbers (avoiding birthday clusters), which can mean a less-shared jackpot.
When was the largest Powerball jackpot ever won?
The largest single Powerball jackpot ever won was $2.04 billion in November 2022, claimed by a single ticket sold in Altadena, California. Cash value at the time was about $997.6 million. The next-largest single jackpot was $1.765 billion in October 2023.
Is this site affiliated with the official Powerball lottery?
No. Powerball Stats is an independent statistics and tools site. We are not affiliated with the Multi-State Lottery Association, the Powerball game, or any state lottery. We pull historical winning numbers from the New York Lottery open-data feed and other public sources for analysis.
